The UK Gold is a new documentary exploring the City of London and its financial labyrinth of tax avoidance connections. These are important topics and ought to be better understood, but they are complicated and murky. Nicholas Shaxson did a fine job untangling the subject in his book Treasure Islands. For those not inclined to read a whole book, perhaps the film is a good place to start.
Those already convinced might like to support the film’s current Kickstarter campaign to move the doc to full distribution. The film is complete and getting screened, and you may be able to catch it near you. It punches above its weight for an independently funded and produced documentary. It just needs a little extra boost to get it ready for download, DVD and TV.
