Gasification

My parents live on the Isle of Wight, which looks like an environmentally progressive place, in its own little way. This month the island is due to see the UK’s first gasification plant open, turning household rubbish into electricity by heating it into gas. It’s a novel process that has been used in Norway and Germany, and could be a greener alternative to incineration. To find out more about gasification, see my article on Celsias.
