The climate march is this weekend

It’s that time of year again, and this saturday is the international day of action on climate change. I can’t make it this year, but last year’s was kind of fun. All the details are here if you want to take part in the London march, and for everywhere else check out the international list to see what’s happening in your area.

There was actually some good news on the climate change front today. The government has shown some important leadership on the Climate Change bill, but it would be made irrelevant if airports continued to expand, particularly Heathrow. The news today is that the decision on the third runway has been delayed until January 2009, in order for the evidence to be fully analysed. It might still go through, but considering that the government has been nothing but supportive of the plan up to now, this will be encouraging for campaigners.

If you do go to the London march, you might like to check in with Christian Ecology Link and join them for their service beforehand.
