One day without shoes

Here’s a campaign after my own heart. I’m far happier without shoes, and only wore them when I had to as a child. (I nearly declared monday to be the first sandal day of the year, until I remembered I had to return a 45kg industrial sander and I figured I ought to have shoes on for that kind of lifting) For many children however, that’s not a choice, and that’s the point of One Day Without Shoes.

On April 8th, the One Day Without Shoes campaign invites you to go barefoot to raise awareness of the millions of children who do not have shoes to wear, and who risk injury and infection as a result. They get our next sidebar ad.

The day is organised by Toms, a shoe company that gives away a pair of shoes for every pair bought, which is a great social venture business model.
