Although the popular wisdom maintains that we have a ‘one person, one vote’ system, in reality your vote may count for 0.25 of a vote, or nothing at all. The statistician behind the Voter Power Index has worked it out, according to your postcode and the probability of change. It’s ingenious and depressing in equal measure, but no surprise for those with an interest in electoral reform. More on which later.
