Last chance to join the Airplot

You may remember the Airplot, Greenpeace’s creative protest at the proposed Heathrow third runway. The scheme has seen over 85,000 people sign up to be registered owners of a plot of land right on the site of the planned development. If the government somehow circumvents the recent high court ruling on the runway and presses ahead, it will have thousands of legal landowners to deal with, each one entitled to representation and compensation for their loss.

The deeds are due to be finalised on the 1st of May, which means there are just a couple of days left to sign up and meet the target of 100,000 landowners. It costs you nothing to be added to the deeds, since the land has already been secured. Just click on over and join up.

If you’re wondering what’s actually on the land at the moment, so far there’s an orchard and an allotment. And if it should become necessary, there may at some point be a fort.
