On the 4th and 5th of September, Practical Action is holding the Small Is… Festival – a celebration and exploration of Schumacher’s Small is Beautiful and what it means today.
The festival will be two days of workshops, hands-on learning, debates, photo exhibitions and networking around topics relating to international development and the planet. There will also be kids activities, a solar cinema, music, dancing and camping.
Among the speakers are Andrew Simms, Mark Lynas and Adam Hart-Davis, while the practical demonstrations will include bicycle generators, mud brick making, micro-solar and hydro, and lots of other simple technologies to try out.
The weekend will set you back a modest £25, including camping in the beautiful grounds of Practical Action, just outside Rugby. Sounds great to me.
