2010 tied for hottest year on record

2010 has tied 2005 for the hottest year on record, according to NOAA. It will come as no surprise to the metorologists, who had predicted it. Neither will it suprise the countries that registered one of the 17 new record temperatures set last year.

The UK just logged the coldest December on record, highlighting the fact that temperatures are not uniform across the globe. As the map below shows, some parts of the world have had a colder year.
