Most people in Britain oppose fracking, but are still getting their energy from companies that are investing in it, say Ecotricity in their current campaign. I know some people will be cynical about it, but I like the way Ecotricity combine activism and marketing.

Speaking of gas, this man has invented a bio-gas powered street light that runs on dog poo.

Cambridge is Britain’s most unequal city – one of a number of interesting findings in this report from the Centre for Cities.

This week I’ve been reading The Globe and Mail, which has been a perfectly concise summary of world news for a half-term week when I haven’t had much time. Next week I will be getting my news from Israel’s oldest newspaper Haaretz.
