Sea ice retreat An area of Arctic ice twice the size of the UK melted last week.

This is a faster decline than even the worst case computer model scenarios, see left.

At current levels, there will be no summer ice in the Arctic in just 23 years’ time.

And what are we doing while this happens?

Arguing about who’s going to get the oil that’s underneath the ice.
