What we learned this week

  • Peak oil hit fiction last year. I knew about Douglas Coupland’s Player One, but not the others mentioned in this list on Transition Voice.
  • Weapons manufacturer Lockheed Martin has so many US government contracts that it amounts to a ‘Lockheed tax‘ of $260 per US household.
  • Can anyone explain why the re-designed Brit Award statuette has ‘Stop! Climate Change’ written on it? Or why the exclamation mark went there?
  • The WorldWatch Institute’s annual report is always worth reading. The 2011 edition came out this week. Download it here, or borrow it from your local library.

  1. This is the perfect web site for everyone who
wants to understand this topic. You know so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I really will need to…HaHa).
You definitely put a fresh spin on a subject that’s
been written about for many years. Wonderful stuff, just excellent!
