What we learned this week

  • I read a striking quote from Alan Greenspan this week, in this Bloomberg article about Libor.: “Through all of my experience, what I never contemplated was that there were bankers who would purposely misrepresent facts to banking authorities”. Really?
  • “Western support for human rights and democracy throughout the Middle East has been anything but consistent when interests in oil, military bases, or Israel are at issue” says Human Rights Watch in their latest annual World Report.
  • You’ve been able to get charity credit cards for years, but this is a new one: WWF have just launched the first Conservation Mobile. Switch to their Wildlife Mobile SIM and 10% of your call revenues will go to conservation.
