What we learned this week

  • Yesterday I wrote about Gujarat’s solar canals, but Britain recently saw its first solar installation on water too. Floating them on a reservoir doubles up on infrastructure and saves land that could be used for agriculture.

  1. Very important to note the Germans release land for housing. Building more houses where people want then is an indispensable part of how they keep house prices low. You can’t suggest we follow them in rental regulation and the rest without that part. Environmentalists seem to be against that.

In the UK the planning consent is worth a huge part of the price of a house because we restrict planning so much.

That all said Germany could be becoming more British
